LandscapeLookup

FAQs

Questions, answered.

Finding a pro, how rankings work, and running your listing.

For homeowners

Is LandscapeLookup free?

Yes. Searching, comparing and contacting pros is free, and you don’t need an account.

Where do you have listings?

Right now in Florida, Georgia and Ohio, with more states on the way. Search by city or ZIP code to see who serves your area.

Does LandscapeLookup do the work or take payments?

No. We’re a directory: you hire and pay the business directly, on terms you agree with them.

How do I choose between pros?

Compare ratings together with how many reviews back them up, then read a few recent reviews on Google. Ask two or three pros for written quotes, ask to see similar work, and check licensing and insurance where your state requires it.

Do you sell my information?

No. You don’t give us any to search, and we don’t sell personal information. Our privacy policy has the details.

Rankings and reviews

Where do the ratings come from?

From each business’s Google Maps profile, refreshed regularly. We don’t write, edit or filter reviews, so a rating here can lag Google’s by a little.

How are pros ranked?

By Google rating weighted by how many reviews back it up, then by how local the pro is and how well their main service matches your search. Complete, verified profiles get a small boost.

Can businesses pay to rank higher?

Not in the ranking: it works the same way for every business. Businesses can pay for a Featured spot, one of the top three places on a city’s lists. Those are always labeled “Featured”, and everything after them is the ranking.

What does “Verified” mean?

The owner claimed the listing and our team confirmed they run the business. Unclaimed listings come from public Google Maps data and may be incomplete.

Can I leave a review here?

Not yet. Leave it on the business’s Google profile: ratings here come from Google, so it counts after our next refresh.

For businesses

How do I get my business listed?

Search for it on our For contractors page. If it’s there, claim it; if not, add it. Both are free, and we review within one business day.

Does a listing cost anything?

No. Claiming and keeping your listing up to date is free. We may add optional paid extras later, such as featured placement; a basic listing stays free.

What can I change after claiming?

Your business name, description, phone, email, website, address, services, the cities and ZIP codes you serve, your logo and project photos. Changes show on your listing within minutes.

A listing is wrong or closed. How do I fix it?

Use “Report a problem with this listing” on its page, or contact us. If it’s your business, claim it to update it yourself.

How do I remove my business?

Contact us and choose “Remove my business”. We’ll confirm you run it and take the listing down.
